The Fezzan

The Fezzan is a huge region in southwestern Libya.  I visited Sabha and then made my way west-southwest from there to near the Algerian border north of Ghat.  The main road takes you through several unremarkable towns, but the scenery itself is enjoyable, if bleak at times.  For chunks of the ride away from Sabha, there are black mountains (like those pictured below in the distance) on the left, and fluffy sand dunes off to the right.
