Belgrade
We spent two days and a night in Belgrade. We met an old friend of Alan Smithee's who showed us the town in her Yugo. A big highlight was meeting a guy on the street and buying him a beer as he told us about the 88-day war about a decade ago and regaled us with encyclopedic knowledge of Balkan history.
Parts of Belgrade look fancy and nice, like Western Europe. Other parts have bombed out buildings.
