Founded in about 1000 BC, Bizerte is a sleepy fishing town north of Tunis. It has a beautiful harbor, tasty food, and it's full of activity in the evenings.
I stayed at a youth hostel for about 8 bucks, and I had the place all to myself. My 5-bed room was delightful, thank you very much. The lack of other visitors would be a theme during my trip. It was just me and the Tunisians, which was fine with me.
