Some dunes in southwestern Libya look exactly like this. Others are the color of circus peanuts. At just the right time in the evening, some are an almost uncouth shade of magenta -- like those pants that say "Juicy" on them.
But you can go to many places to see dunes. How about natural lakes nestled among sand dunes? Check. Surreal, moonlike clusters of rock formations that stretch for kilometers? Yes, sir. Black soil, black rocks, black mountains? No problem. A haunted mountain? Got that too.
