Here is the view from the top of our first hike. It was a long way down. The whole way, it smelled of fresh, rich soil -- like the black soil you buy at Home Depot. And the air was cool. The main thing you heard was the roaring of the falls in the distance. They weren't especially high -- it's dry season, but there's been a lot of rain, so it's higher than usual, and it's still plenty loud.
This is our path. Everyone had to take off their shoes for the last 200+ meters of rocky, wet climbing and hiking.
This is what the "boiling pot" looks like, down below the falls. You can guess why it has that name. When the falls are really flowing, you can't even go here -- you have to stand far away because the water level is probably 15 or 20 meters higher.
This is the view from the boiling pot towards the falls. You can barely make them out at the top there.
And there's a bridge connecting Zambia and Zimbabwe. Look closely below the bridge.
