I toured a farm just outside Lubumbashi. Nominally "private," it is owned by the governor of Katanga, who is reputedly the wealthiest man in the Congo. The farm uses water diverted from one of the main rivers near Lubumbashi. It's one year old. Here's Congolese commercial fishing.
My tour guide is the province's Minister of Agriculture. I am told he used to be the Minister of Mining. He says that the country is full of opportunities for investment, though he acknowledges that it has "some administrative problems."
