On my second day of motorcycling around Yellowstone, I did not get rained on! But I did get solidly lost. As the sun was setting, I found myself on a beautiful and totally empty road that I had definitely not seen before. That was unsettling, because I had intended to return the same way I came.
My wrong turn was worth it for the scenery alone, but when I came upon a snarl of traffic, I knew something exciting was afoot. It was these two beauties.

Hard to blame the folks who just parked in the middle of the road to take a look. Those velveteen antlers were really something up close.
