I can now drive stickshift
I came back from Etosha on Sunday night. On Monday, I went to court and discovered that the trial I'm observing was postponed until Thursday. I returned to my hostel and learned from another traveler that the elusive black rhino was seen at Etosha on Sunday night.
I decided to rent a car, drive back to Etosha, and see the beast with my own eyes. Here's me with Chico II.
And here's me learning manual transmission. It wasn't pretty (just ask the stranger who had to hop in my car to help me get up a hill after watching me stall about 10 times), but I can do it pretty well now.

It’s in the north of Namibia, about 450 km north of Windhoek. It’s 22,912 square kilometers -- one of Africa’s largest national parks. Etosha has 763 km of roads (almost all of which are dirt). It has 114 large and small animal species, 340 bird species, and 86 springs, fountains, and waterholes.

My traveling companions
Jamie has long hair. He's the one who hitchhiked from the UK to Namibia. Sean's the other one. He was in the Peace Corps in Madagascar, loved it, and has been there for the past 5 years.
